In addition to being an Author, Annette is the CEO of the Not-For-Profit organisation, TUFMINDS Life Rescue, a unique and ground breaking Mental Wellness and Suicide Intervention Program. The FREE TUFMINDS App is saving lives everyday and is available for download on all smartphones.
Annette also serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for the South African non-profit organisation: CAMPIO Burns Group, who raise awareness of burns abuse and accidents with a strong emphasis on child and gender abuse in the South African context.
I was born in Melbourne in 1965 and suffered horrific third degree burns at the age of 9 whist at a Christmas BBQ. It scarred 30% of my body including my face. Burnt Face tells my story of survival and how I overcame being bullied at school to become a strong and rebellious teen growing up in the notorious suburb of Broadmeadows, known for boisterous youth and gangs during the 70s and 80s.

I moved to Mackay with my parents and three year old son in 1991 to begin a new chapter in my life. I met my husband, Jason in 1992 and after a 12 month friendship we began a romantic relationship which continues to this day. I still live in Mackay with my husband and three grown children Shay, Reyan and Brydee.
I attained a degree with high distinctions in Public Relations and Communications in 2010 as well as a Diploma of Multimedia. I am a freelance writer and editor and have over 10 years experience in Public Relations, Marketing and Business Management. I was the General Manager of Mackay GP Superclinic Group from 2013 to 2021 and currently the CEO of TUFMINDS Life Rescue.
